Iron for the carpenter. Now this is something very special. More precisely: an MDF carrier panel with a rust surface.
This gives interior fittings a special look, not only in shop fitting and exhibition booth construction. The use of actual rusted iron gives this design surface an absolutely authentic look. It is also magnetic. You can use these panels in furniture construction, as wall panelling, on ceilings or stairs, in exhibition booth construction or shopfitting – there are virtually no limits to the ideas. They can be used in contrast to other surfaces to create truly unusual combinations.
The coating consists of mineral, solid-colored materials – and real metal particles. At the same time – and this is also very important to us – it is ecologically harmless and recyclable. Staining is prevented by sealing the surface. Of course, this has also been taken into account.
For such a stylish, industrial look, you don't have to lug around and install real iron plates.

Structure and surface
The imi-rust smooth composite panel consists of a 19 mm thick MDF carrier panel with a 1 to 3 mm thick mineral coating on one side in a rust look (side A).
Side B is covered with a white melamine backing. The panel edges are raw.
Due to the mineral coating on one side, these MDF panels are subject to slight tension. The rust characteristic has no unwinding. The coating consists of mineral, solid-colored material with a proportion of metallic iron particles, so that the surface is slightly magnetic. The surface behaves like Corten steel. A special surface sealant protects against discoloration. This design surface is therefore durable and robust, but is of course also subject to normal ageing processes.
Each panel coated in this way is unique. However, we always ensure a uniform appearance.

Classification
The mineral rust coating is classified as non-combustible A2-s1, d0 in accordance with the German DIN EN 13501-1.
Sustainability advantage
This product is recyclable. You can easily dispose of leftovers with household waste. Both, the coating and the material of the carrier panel are ecologically harmless.
Higher loads
An additional matt protective coating is recommended if it is expected to be subjected to higher loads.
Cleaning and care
You can treat this rusty surface like a normal veneered, lacquered surface. We recommend cleaning with a damp cloth.
Normal carbide-tipped tools are sufficient for further processing of these high-quality coated MDF panels (sawing, drilling, routing).
The screw extraction resistance is the same as for any other MDF panel. We recommend pre-drilling.
These panels can be glued with standard wood glue.
Please store these panels in a dry place and protect them from frost. Please use corrugated cardboard or foam film as intermediate layers so that you can enjoy this beautiful design coating for a long time.
And please note the following information:
The main component of imi mineral coatings is organic. This means that color differences between different batches cannot be completely ruled out, even if we pay close attention to them. Differences of this kind, as well as air inclusions, are natural and are no reason for complaint. Due to the nature of the product, slight warping and slight offsets in the joint area cannot be completely ruled out – despite all the precision in production and caution on our part.

If you like our mineral surface imi-rust and you are already planning an interior fitting with it, we also offer you the matching ABS edge. You can use it to cover the cut edges of our Queenply and protect the multiplex edge from knocks or damage. In principle, this is not necessary. Due to its construction, our Queenply has a really beautiful cut edge, unlike many plywood panels. Well oiled and pre-treated, you can also leave the edges open. For covering and protecting cut edges. Coordinated with our rust decor. Easy to apply. For the processing of edges and corners of our Queenply Multiplex imi-rust we have a special edge covering paint for you in our shop. This full and tinting color is exactly matched to the rust decor and is 100 percent environmentally friendly pure acrylic dispersion paint, water-dilutable, matt, low-odour and lightfast. The finishing paint is very easy to apply by brush, roller or airless spraying. Of course, you can also leave the edges of the Queenply open. Well oiled and pre-treated, it looks really stylish and classy. However, if you are looking for a decorative and protective edge finish for this surface, then this edge finish paint is perfect for the surface.
