Poplar Plywood untreated / raw (B/BB)

Product information "Poplar Plywood untreated / raw (B/BB)"

Large format for fewer butt joints. Raw panel for van conversions. B / BB. Thicknesses from 5 mm to 18 mm.

This poplar plywood panel is exceptionally large in size:

  • 2,52 m length
  • 1,87 m width

And that’s why it’s made it into our range of panels. We know that sometimes you need a bit more in terms of length and width. Many of you have asked us from time to time about larger sizes of Queenply. As this isn’t possible, unfortunately, we’ve decided to offer you a poplar alternative instead. And here it is!

With this raw panel, you can clad floors and walls with minimal joints. If you’re looking for something this size in well known PLATTENLADEN quality, this panel is actually a great addition to our Queenply untreated / raw.

Of course, you can also use it to build parts of your furniture. For anyone looking for a low-budget alternative for their project, this is a panel that’s ideal for the job.

However, please bear in mind that – unlike our Queenply raw – this panel is not glued to be moisture-resistant and has not been additionally calibrated. This means it is more susceptible to moisture and there may be greater thickness tolerances. It’s up to you.

If that’s all you need, you can order this panel from our shop in various thicknesses ranging from 5 mm to 18 mm, and we’ll deliver it to you using our PLATTENLADEN shuttle service. Our shuttle can easily deliver large-format panels too.

For further information, please refer to the technical details. Have fun with your project!

Technical details

Our poplar plywood panel is a large-format construction panel made from peeled poplar veneer. The surface is sanded but left unfinished. The quality of the face veneers is B on one side and BB on the other.

Panel dimension

252 cm × 187 cm

Gluing

Class 1 glued (not waterproof) (UNI EN 314-2)

Surface treatment

It is important to oil all untreated surfaces of the panel before installation! Why? This makes the wood more durable, protects it and maintains the surfaces. We have a special recommendation for this, which you can order at the same time: RUBIO® Monocoat 2C Maintenance Oil. One coat is enough! Product details here.

Safety measures

If you are going to process our lightweight panels, please ensure that you take adequate safety precautions, such as extracting the chips and wearing protective goggles and a protective mask.

Storage

Of course, you can store the panels for a while. Please ensure that you store them flat and in a dry place, and protect them from fluctuations in temperature and humidity, as well as from excessive UV exposure. Sunlight can cause the side exposed to it to slightly yellow.

Transport damage?

And another important note: We pack your panels with special care before shipping and make sure that they leave our warehouse without any damage to the edges. However, even with the greatest care, it can happen during transport that a corner is pressed in or the edge is slightly damaged. We know that, too. That’s why we calculate 1 cm less for each side in advance. This saves us all a lot of time that would otherwise be wasted on complaints. Put this time into your project – and feel free to recommend us to others.
