Rubio’s Universal Maintenance Oil is a care oil designed to refresh wooden surfaces that have already been treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil or another product. The oil is ideal for heavily used surfaces that may require regular re-treatment, care or maintenance. The kitchen worktop in your van, for example. Or table tops. Perhaps even the odd piece of furniture. Simply all treated wooden surfaces indoors.
The oil restores the wood’s protection. It is VOC-free, suitable for universal use and gives wooden surfaces a refreshed look.
Our care oil has the ‘Pure’ shade. With its warm hue, it beautifully highlights the wood and its grain. The oil is applied using a pad. To save you the hassle of searching for one, you can also purchase this from our shop.

Rubio’s Maintenance Oil is ideal for maintaining existing oiled surfaces or as an additional protective layer for high-traffic areas. You can and should use the product very sparingly to avoid a sticky finish. It is very productive, so it will last a long time. With our 0.5-litre pack size, you can treat approx. 75 to 100 m².

Storage
If stored in a dry, frost-free place in its original packaging, the product has a shelf life of 12 months.
Instructions for use
- Before applying the oil, you must remove any dirt and dust from the surface. It’s best to use a Rubio Cleaner. Once the surface has dried, apply a small amount of the Universal Maintenance Oil – which you’ve stirred thoroughly beforehand – to the surface and spread it evenly using a beige-colored Rubio Scrubby Pad.
- Leave the oil to soak in for a few minutes. You can then remove any excess oil with a cloth. Important: Every treated area must be rubbed dry within 15 minutes. It must no longer feel sticky. And then you’re done.
- For larger areas, always work in sections where you can complete all steps within a maximum of 15 minutes.
- Ensure adequate ventilation during application.
Cleaning
Please wait at least 48 hours before cleaning the treated surface, using a damp cloth. After 7 days, you can clean the surface at any time, ideally using Rubio All Natural Wood Cleaner, All Natural Wood Cleaner Spray or Surface Cleaner.
Further notes for use
Give it a good stir! Please stir the oil well before use until it becomes a homogeneous liquid.
Test the color! The color images in our shop are for illustrative purposes only and may not accurately reflect how the color will look on your surface. We therefore recommend that you test the color on a small section of the surface first.
Warning!
Oil-soaked cloths, pads or other application tools pose a fire hazard. The oxidation of the oil generates heat, which can cause the materials to spontaneously ignite. Therefore, cloths and other tools must be soaked in water for a while after use before you can dispose of them.
Wear work gloves. Although Rubio oils contain only environmentally friendly ingredients, they may cause allergic reactions in some people. It is therefore best to wear work gloves when working with the oil.
