Product information "imi-rust deep (MDF panel)"
Decor 330. Iron for the carpenter. Mineral coating in rust look on MDF. With 3D structure. Slightly magnetic.
If you really like our Queenply with a rusty surface look, why not take another look here?
In addition to the smooth rust surface, we now also have a rust decor on MDF panel, which has a 3D depth structure. This looks really great, especially on larger surfaces: as an exhibition wall, for example. Or as a design wall in living rooms. Perhaps also for built-in furniture.
The surface is mineral, but the surface specialists at imi surface design have incorporated real metal particles. You can't tell the difference between the rust surface and original iron plates. And it is also slightly magnetic.
The processing is simple: conventional carpentry tools. That’s it. Do you already have some ideas about what you could design with it?

Structure and surface
This MDF panel with a deep imi-rust coating is a 19 mm thick MDF carrier panel plus an approx. 1 mm thick mineral, slightly magnetic rust coating on one side (side A).
Side B is covered with a white melamine backing. The panel edges are raw.
Due to the mineral coating on one side, these MDF panels are subject to slight tension.
The rust characteristic has no unwinding. The coating consists of mineral, solid-colored material and a proportion of metallic iron particles, so that the surface is slightly magnetic. The surface behaves like Corten steel.
A special surface sealant protects against discoloration. This makes the coating both durable and robust. However, the product is of course also subject to normal ageing processes.

Thickness
You can order this composite panel from imi-beton in approx. 20 mm thickness from our online shop.
Classification
The mineral rust coating is classified as non-combustible A2-s1, d0 in accordance with the German DIN EN 13501-1.
Sustainability advantage
This product is recyclable. You can easily dispose of leftovers with household waste. Both, the coating and the material of the carrier panel are ecologically harmless.
Higher loads
An additional matt protective coating is recommended if it is expected to be subjected to higher loads.
Cleaning and care
You can treat this rusty surface like a normal veneered, lacquered surface. We recommend cleaning with a damp cloth.
Normal carbide-tipped tools are sufficient for further processing of these high-quality coated MDF panels (sawing, drilling, routing).
The screw extraction resistance is the same as for any other MDF panel. We recommend pre-drilling.
These panels can be glued with standard wood glue.
Please store these panels in a dry place and protect them from frost. Please use foam foil as an intermediate layer so that you can enjoy this beautiful design coating for a long time.
And please note the following information:
The main component of imi mineral coatings is organic. This means that color differences between different batches cannot be completely ruled out, even if we pay close attention to them. Differences of this kind, as well as air inclusions, are natural and are no reason for complaint. A slight distortion and slight offsets in the joint area cannot be completely ruled out due to the nature of the material, despite all the precision in production and caution on our part.
