Product information "imi-concrete mat vintage herringbone S"

Decor 224. Herringbone pattern on flexible PU mat. Original concrete look. Uncomplicated installation. Can be used variably.

This is something really innovative: typical herringbone pattern in a concrete look on a flexible PU mat. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Laying is neither complicated nor time-consuming. That’s because the vintage concrete-look pattern is already laid on large-format, flexible tiles. The practical size of the individual tiles makes laying really easy.

Simply lay them together and you’re done! Thanks to the sophisticated bevelled edge, you can effortlessly create a seamless transition from one panel to the next. Thanks to the high-quality design surface, which not only looks like concrete but also feels like it, it looks like real concrete.

As a floor covering or as a backsplash on the wall – this imi mat is suitable for both. You can use it in many areas: in interior fittings, on exhibition stands or even in van conversions. A mat like this on the floor of a campervan? That would be great, wouldn’t it!

This imi mat with herringbone pattern size S has the panel size W786 mm × 940 mm. The individual bars of the pattern are arranged at a 90-degree angle to each other and measure 180 mm × 36 mm. This is quite a small-scale pattern. If you would like the individual bars to be somewhat larger, then take a look at the herringbone XL mat here in the shop.

We have summarised other important informations about this mat here in the technical details.

Technical details

Structure and surface

The imi-concrete vintage herringbone S mat that you can order from us consists of a 3 mm thick bio-polyurethane mat with an approx. 1 mm thick mineral coating on one side in a herringbone look. The mat retains its shape, even at fluctuating temperatures.

The back of the mat is uncoated.

The coating is sealed with a protective layer and is therefore durable and robust, so that you can also use this mat as a floor covering without any problems.  But of course, this product is also subject to normal ageing processes.

Sustainability benefit

The product is made from organic polyurethane. This consists largely of renewable raw materials such as rapeseed or castor oil. The surface was developed from naturally occurring mineral components such as chalk. The product is free from plasticisers, PVC, chlorine and solvents – i.e. low in harmful substances and certified with the Blue Angel label.

Leftovers or old mat parts can easily be disposed of with household waste. Both the coating and the material of the carrier plate are ecologically harmless.

Higher duty / commercial areas

If you want to lay the mat on the floor in a commercial area, this is of course possible. To maintain the high quality, an additional special sealant is required.

Cleaning and care

You can clean this imi mat daily or at longer intervals as required. Loose dirt is best removed by sweeping, vacuuming or wiping with a damp cloth. Heavier soiling can be removed by adding a little mild neutral detergent to the cleaning water.

Please remove staining or aggressive substances from the imi mat immediately. If you want to use stain cleaners or other harsher cleaning agents, please test on an inconspicuous area or on an unglued sample to see whether the mineral coating can withstand them.

Important infos!

You can process this imi mat with a cutter knife or normal woodworking machines. You don’t need any special machines or equipment for this. Sawing, drilling or milling can be done with normal carbide-tipped tools.

You will need a system or wet adhesive to install the mats. We have compiled some recommendations for you in our installation data sheet.

If you decide to lay the mat on the floor and later place chairs, tables or furniture on it, this is generally not a problem. It is only important to protect the mat with suitable protective glides or underlays under the furniture. High point loads with a small contact area (narrow furniture feet or even high-heeled shoes) can otherwise lead to indentations or damage in this coating.

However, if there are any small imperfections in the surface, you can repair them by simply resealing the affected areas.

We have put together some tips for you on laying the mat on the wall and floor. You should definitely read these before you start. They will help you to work as relaxed as possible. (Link installation data sheet)

If you store the mats, please ensure that they are kept dry and protected from frost. The imi-concrete herringbone S mat must always be acclimatised before installation.

And one more note:

The main component of imi mineral coatings is organic. This means that color differences between different batches cannot be completely ruled out, even if we pay close attention to them. Differences of this kind, as well as air inclusions, are natural and no reason for complaint.
