Product information "Rubio® Monocoat Oil Plus 2C Mist 5%"
Wood protection and care. Just one step. Perfectly suited to our panels. With a subtle tint.
Wood protection is essential for all wooden surfaces. It makes veneers, raw panels and exposed edges of our panels more durable, keeps them well-maintained and ensures they remain as beautiful as when they were first installed. If you’d like to give your wood a soft, subtle shade of pale beige-yellow at the same time, here’s our recommendation for this combination: Rubio oil mist 5%.
The oil itself is of the highest quality, VOC-free and therefore environmentally friendly, making it ideal for our wood-based materials. The two components provide high protection that dries and cures quickly. At the same time, Rubio is known for the fact that a single application is sufficient – unlike with other oils.
Thanks to the subtle 5% tint, you’ll give the wood an additional, subtle beige-yellow hue. The wood grain really comes into its own afterwards, and the appearance of the wood surface gains that certain something.
If that appeals to you: Rubio Oil Plus 2C is suitable for all indoor wooden surfaces (furniture, worktops, table tops, stairs, walls, floors, etc.), including high-traffic areas. And don’t be put off by the price: the oil goes a long way (30–50 m²/L). You only need to apply it once and the quality is really high.
You can find further detailed information in the technical specifications. Please read everything carefully before use.
In comparison to many other wood care oils, this Rubio oil requires just a single application to provide optimal protection for your panels. We have been working with Rubio for quite some time now – their oils are perfectly suited to our wooden panels.
The 2C combination of oil and accelerator ensures high-quality protection that cures quickly. Thanks to its molecular bonding, the care oil bonds with the top microns of the wood within a few minutes, which means for you: no streaks or overlaps, no film formation, no saturation. This unique technology has further convinced us to recommend this oil to you.

Introductions for use
Rubio Oil Plus 2C is applied using pads or a sponge. To ensure the best possible finish, we also stock the right accessories for you in our shop (Rubio Monocoat Scrubby Pads). Depending on whether you apply the oil by hand or using a machine, there are different pads to choose from. Thanks to their special texture, these ensure that the oil can be applied quickly and easily and penetrates deep into the wood.
Rubio cotton cloths are ideal for removing excess oil after surface treatment. Lint-free and made from old cotton textile scraps (e.g. T-shirts), which are thus reused and help reduce textile waste. Thanks to their soft and absorbent properties, these cloths are ideal for evenly distributing and wiping off wood oil without leaving any lint behind.

Refurbishment / Renewal
Over time, treated wooden surfaces may well show signs of wear and tear. Signs of this include, for example, visible footpaths on the floor or a surface that is more prone to staining and remains damp for longer after cleaning. If you notice this, if the surface is very worn or if the color needs refreshing, you can touch it up with a new coat of Oil Plus 2C in the same color as the original treatment. Provided your worktop has no other major damage, you won’t need to sand the surface again.
You can read here about how a revision works:
Mix correctly! The 3:1 mixing ratio of oil (Component A) to hardener (Component B) is crucial. Only then will the oil cure completely and provide full protection against moisture, dirt and UV radiation. At the same time, the correct mixing ratio ensures an even color finish and a stable, durable surface. If you don’t take care to do this properly, you risk ending up with dull patches, stains or having to redo the job.
Warning!
Oil-soaked cloths or other application tools pose a fire hazard. The oxidation of the oil generates heat, which can cause the materials to spontaneously ignite. Therefore, cloths and other tools must be soaked in water for a while after use before you dispose of them.
Test the color! The color images in our shop are for illustrative purposes only and may not accurately reflect how the color will look on your surface. We therefore recommend that you test the color on a small section of the surface first.
After application, the surface may have a slight sheen. However, this will disappear after 2–3 cleaning cycles with Surface Care, All Natural Wood Cleaner or All Natural Wood Cleaner Spray. You can find all these products in our shop.
Wear work gloves. Even though Rubio oils contain only environmentally friendly ingredients, they can still cause allergic reactions in some people. It is therefore best to wear gloves when applying the oil.
