Ready Now – the new building is coming to life.
We are delighted to announce that the extension to the library and multifunctional rooms at the Wake-up School in Uganda is finished!
You have eagerly ordered – we have donated – architects and local companies have built.
Hand in hand, that's how it should be.
Teachers and kids are already using the new rooms every day and are very happy to have more space for learning.
And the next steps have already been decided: firstly, socialarchitecture wants to connect the school to the fresh water network. The water is drawn from a nearby lake, channelled through a treatment plant and can then be used by the local population. If we could achieve this for the school, it would be a big step forward. Secondly, a health centre is to be built on the site opposite, with doctors‘ and patients’ rooms and an extension to the pharmacy for better medical care.
